Delete your uVote account and data
Option 1: Delete inside the app
- Open uVote and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Delete Account.
- Confirm with your password, or through Google if your account has no password.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
If you can no longer open the app, email uvote@gmail.com with the subject uVote account deletion request. Send it from the email address registered to your account (or tell us that address and your full name) so we can confirm the account is yours. We aim to process verified requests within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in account (email, password or Google link) and your profile (name, photo link).
- Voting rooms you own, with their candidates, memberships, participation records, codes and requests.
- Your memberships in other rooms, your notifications, and some related code requests.
What may be kept, and why
- Device binding: a one-way hash of your device identifier and your account ID remain reserved so deleting an account cannot be used to register again and cast a second ballot. There is no automatic expiry. You can ask for its removal by email; we review such requests because it is an anti-duplicate-voting safeguard.
- Votes already counted in other owners' rooms, and participation records, remain until that room is reset or deleted by its owner. Counted votes are aggregate totals and are not stored as a list of your choices.
- Used-code records, requests in rooms you previously left or never joined, and older verification records may remain.
- Photos you uploaded are stored by Cloudinary and are not automatically deleted; email us to request removal of a specific image.
